Erotisch? Nee hoor / Erotic? No way

For English: just scroll down a tad

Opgewekt gingen we verder.

Erotic? No way

On Sunday afternoon we went to the Open Studios in the former Wilhelmina Hospital, although the weather was beautiful, but the train from Amsterdam to Zandvoort has not been running for weeks and I do not want to take the bus. At my friend Els Staal's studio, a beautiful installation was on display. Walking through it and gently touching it was also allowed. Els works a lot with black rubber and collects various smaller and larger objects that she puts together or hangs on ropes and elastic and paints black if they are not already. I asked if there was also a story behind it because that is often the case with art. But no. "On feeling and emotion," she assembled the installation, and it was meant to be experienced just as it was. Friend A declared that he was very pleasantly affected by the erotic charge of both the individual elements and the whole, but Els did not follow that interpretation and also questioned whether eroticism was actually an emotion. Cheerfully, we continued.
